FREEDOM IN CHRIST

Romans 13:12-14 “the night is far gone; the day is near. Let us then lay aside the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us live honorably as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and licentiousness, not in quarreling and jealousy. Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.”

Romans 12:1-2“I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God - not the result of works, so that no one may boast.”

1 Corinthians 10:12-13 “So if you think you are standing, watch out that you do not fall. No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.”

Galatians 5:13 “For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another.”

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things”

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God.”

2 Corinthians 5:9-10 “So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may receive recompense for what has been done in the body, whether good or evil.”

John 14:15“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

Matthew 26:41“Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Matthew 5:8“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”

1 Peter 5:8“Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour”

Quote “A man first collapses in the prayer closet”. To go days without prayer is spiritual suicide. The problem is that many of us have a weak and inconsistent prayer life. We allow busyness, friends and worldly entertainments to eat into our time. Never compromise on prayer life -

Leonard Ravenhill Quote“Sinful pleasure at its very best and in the most promising state is still an inferior pleasure.”

Quote“God asks us to rest in him, and him alone. And when we do not do that, meaning in our lives is lacking. And when this happens we try to replace it with feelings and sensations, namely addictions. Pornography is the premier replacement for meaning our lives. Chasing feelings and sensations a meaningless proposition resulting in frustration commonly self-destruction or even violence. An infinite amount of worldly pleasures giving satisfaction will not equal the peace and happiness of connection and relationship with God. “
